Selena Gomez has lived lifetimes. At just 27 years old, she is, in no particular order, a global pop star with three number-one albums, the fifth-most-followed person on Instagram, an actor since the age of 7, an executive producer of documentaries and television, a tabloid fixation, a philanthropist, a mental health advocate, and, most recently, the founder of an inclusive beauty line.

It’s been almost exactly six months since Selena first announced that she will be launching what has since become one of the most highly anticipated celebrity beauty brands in recent memory: Rare Beauty. In that time, Gomez has shared peeks at what the makeup collection can do with behind-the-scenes selfies, and now, we finally know when we’ll be able to experience those products for ourselves.
Rare Beauty will be launching on September 3.
Outside of RareBeauty.com, Rare Beauty products will be available exclusively at Sephora, which has had a brand page set up for months promising the arrival of Gomez’s line in 2020.
The products themselves have been very much under-wraps thus far, but Gomez has been very open about her goals for Rare Beauty.
“I wanted to make a brand where you feel comfortable. You know, I think people feel the pressure — I know I do — where you kind of feel like you need to look like everyone else or you should get this because that’s what everybody else gets,”
She has also made it clear that she wants Rare Beauty to be a force for good in the fight for more access to mental health services. In July, the brand announced that it was forming the Rare Impact Fund, wherein one percent of Rare Beauty sales will be dedicated to increasing access to resources, with the hopes of raising $100 million within 10 years.
